Mayhem, Momics and More

Unhappy food Pairing.

Try it. It’s uncanny.
Or even better…don’t try it.

What to pack in your hospital bag

Yay! The due date is near and it’s time to use your expensive luggage for the last time ever. What to pack, you ask? That is a good question. There are definitely some essentials that you’ll want to bring. And music, of course. And you’ll want to pack your bag before you go in to labour. And keep it in the car in case you have one of those speedy births that the prenatal classes say you won’t have. And love and support is always handy too. Essentials, preparedness, support. Yup. What would you do without my wisdom?

I would like to add three handy little things to that hospital bag list that always seem to be ignored  Here they are. (Dads—take note. I made this list primarily for you.)

nail clippers

toilet paper

And there you have it folks. Happy labouring!

Best Christmas ‘Toys’ Ever!

Christmas is over and it’s that magical time where the tree is up, it still feels like the holidays  but the toys are unwrapped, new and just waiting to be destroyed played with.
I’m not sure about your kids, but mine got a great haul from Santa this year! Lucky kids. Play play play!
Here are the most popular toys that the kids are playing with.

The magic blinky toy that controls how many times we can watch ‘Rudolf and the Bumble’.
This seems to be the most fun when it is ripped and thrown into the furthest recesses of the house. Except the scotch tape— that goes directly in the mouth.
Who does laundry during the holidays? Apparently not me! Turns out a 7 foot pile of skanky, gravy stained clothes is the best thing EVER.
They came with my purple denim jeans circa 1998. Brought out to accessorize my holiday ‘fat pants’. Excellent for wrangling baby sister.
Beating the crap out of each other that is. It’s a good thing I have babies that are built like tanks…and the extended warranty.

Thanks Santa. Much appreciated I’m sure. See you next year.

I recommend: Little Tush Cloth Diapers

Today’s recommendation is for Little Tush cloth diapers!
Wrap your baby’s poop in love! (Disclaimer: That’s not their slogan, it’s just some extra pizazz.)

Last spring I decided to go green with diapering Rowan and so far it’s been great and easy. These diapers are cute, soft, absorbent and most importantly easy to clean. If you’re thinking about changing to cloth these are fantastic. Go for it!

Little Tush website.

PS: For what it’s worth, this recommendation isn’t paid for or endorsed.
I use ‘em. I like ‘em. I recommend ‘em.
