Mom Illustrated

Mayhem, Momics and More

Hilarious Pregnancy Journal

If you haven’t stumbled upon this blog yet, let me give you a little push.
Expecting illustrator Brie Spangler draws her way through the cravings, fears and joys of her first pregnancy and at 37 weeks, the ending has yet to be revealed!

Here is a little peak, but I urge you to go to her site and read from day one.

Thanks for sharing Brie and hope all goes well in the remaining weeks of your pregnancy!
PS: This one was all too familiar. *Snort*

Labour of Love

Thanks for all the well wishes everyone!
Here’s the lovely story about giving birth to Rowan on Tuesday, March 15:

9:30am – Midwife checkup and I had my membranes scraped (sounds worse than it is…). Already 5cm dilated.
11:00am – Took the midwives cocktail*. (Bottoms up!)
1:00-2:00pm – Midwives cocktail kicks in (Bottoms down…)

Baby Girl

Hi!

So Tuesday we had baby Rowan Amelia.
I’m working at a break-neck speed of  1 panel every 12 hours* to get a new momic up about it. In the meantime here’s a quick portrait. (Drawing her seems to be easier than downloading pictures around here…)

*Also how many hours of sleep I’m getting in the same amount of time…

Week Overdue

10am: Heading to an ultra sound and non-stress test.
I’m pretty sure this is what they’re going to find.

Will keep you updated.

Update 1pm: Yup! That’s exactly what they found. Fatter though.

Thursday’s Little Miracle

As of 10am on Thursday, still no baby.
Still cool.

But you came here lookin’ for some news so I won’t leave you hanging.

This morning I woke up with my hair like this.

And over the course of only 2 hours, I’ve managed to get it to do this.

And if that still isn’t good enough for you, I also took my Christmas wreath down.

Miracles and productivity. Excellent progress.

How are your Thursday mornings?

  • About Mom Illustrated

This blog was started in 2011 by artist and illustrator Jana Curll during maternity-leave with her second child.
In 2012 it was opened up to other masochistic parents (or observers of parents) who feel compelled to draw their stories.
    Bless us, one and all.
